当大部份的效果器制造商都全力朝数字式发展或大量生产的同时, 也有少数的公司选择从以往的模拟技术中汲取其经验, 而美国的Fulltone即是一个例子。Fulltone的主事者是Michael Fuller, 一个专业而略有名气的地区性吉他手。他也曾得过Guitar Player杂志的蓝调吉他手首奖。他的音乐灵感主要来自像Jimi Hendrix那类的蓝调摇滚音乐, 其效果器亦是走那一种方向。

据Michael Fuller说, 他是对现代的效果器极不满意, 又感于以往的产品维修不易, 而开始自己动手做。Fulltone就是在这样的想法下诞生的。笔者曾和Michael Fuller通过电话及E-mail, 他对吉他音色的原理理解透澈,又喜欢不绝地讨论他的效果器等, 是个极风趣又有知识的人。他还会问顾客吉他配备来决定是否他的产品适用,而不是一口就要你买的商人本色。他告诉我他的产品全部都是他自己手工做的, 当然我实在没有理由相信,虽然Fulltone的生产及行销量一直不是很多。无论如何, 手工效果器的品质是极受肯定的。

If you love the first 2 Hendrix releases then you'll love this pedal, with 2 Germanium transistors hand-picked and tested for optimum performance. A Contour Knob lets you dial in Midrange, Harmonics and Sustain, also an Input Bias knob that takes out the "woofiness" and gives great Overdrive/Distortion sounds when its level is reduced. An Internal Trimmer allows for adjustment of Clipping Symmetry, Harmonics, and Tracking.
