Epiphone的历史
详细介绍：
1873年，17岁的Epaminondas（简写为Epd）被父亲带到他的工厂里，帮忙制造乐器。1915年Epaminondas将自已的小名同希腊字母组合，于是第一件印有Epiphone标志的乐器就诞生了。
19世纪30年代，吉它成为主要的弦乐器，Gibson同Epiphone在管弦乐器及爵士吉它方面展开了激烈的竞争。在第二次世界大战期间，Epiphone倒闭了，它在战前所创造的卓越成就也随之成为过去。
若干年后，Gibson的母公司Chigaro Musical Instrument收购了Epiphone，使之成为Gibson子公司。1958年，Gibson在Michigan的Kalamazoo重建了Epiphone生产线，所生产的乐器很快就成为了Epiphone重建信誉及荣耀。
也许Epiphone品质的最好证明是在1965年，一个叫做“Beatles”的摇滚乐队购买了三把Epiphone Casino，在1970年Beatles解散之前，他们用Casino录制了许多经典的歌曲，包括“Paperback Writer”及“Ticket to ride”，在他们的1966年美国的一次巡回演出中，他们同样使用了Casino。
另外，Paul Mccartney购买了一把Epiphone Texan箱琴，就是用这把箱琴，他录制了那首经典的《Yesterday》。
今天，位于Nashville的Epiphone总部，是世界上最大的有品弦乐器生产商，生产范围包括箱琴、电箱两用琴、电琴、箱贝司、电贝司等。除了琴之外，他们还有音箱等，没有其他生产商可以比Epiphone提供更好的及更多的选择。

When the SG, or "Solid Guitar," was introduced in 1960 as a replacement for the Les Paul Standard, it was called the "fretless wonder" for its low frets and fast action. The twin horn cutaway design was like nothing on the market and its light but balanced weight made it the perfect guitar for stage and studio work. The powerful sound of a humbucker equipped SG has became the go-to guitar for artists such as The Who’s Pete Townshend, Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, Paul Weller, AC/DC’s Angus Young, Eric Clapton and Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band.
